Ben is not only an excellent musician but a highly effective teacher. I love the fact that he makes all his lessons enjoyable as well as informative. He teaches his students to 'feel' their music. He tells his students the stories behind the composers. Most importantly, he encourages excellence and shows his students the secrets about how to achieve it. We consider ourselves most fortunate to have found a great teacher and a marvellous person.

We have been at Guildford Violin Lessons for 8 months now. We are so fortunate that we found Ben as he is the perfect Viola tutor for our son. Ben is extremely talented and highly professional in his approach to lessons. Our son responds so well to Ben’s kind and fun, yet educational lessons. Our son has made leaps and bounds in progress under Ben’s instruction. I highly recommend Guildford Violin Lessons as a music tutor.

No point trying to use them. They don't answer the phone. If you do eventually get through, they just say they are full. Just a waste of time to deal with.

I am a student of Ben's, and have been for several years now. As a somewhat eccentric, and quite picky person, I have been thoroughly pleased with his ability to tailor his lessons to me and my interests, and inculcate good academic musical practices that are seen in the best of musicians into me. For all of my time learning from him, I have enjoyed, and looked forward to, his lessons, and appreciated his ongoing support with my studies and development in the art of the violin. I would, with no reservations, recommend him to anybody interested in learning how to play the violin properly, and pick up all of the subtle intricacies, about which, few teachers can educate.

Ben is a splendid teacher who is very kind and patient. Initially, when switching from a different teacher my son had a bad habit with his playing but with Ben's patience and perseverance in trying different methods to help him, he was able to fix it making great progress with his playing. We live further South and have to drive a long way but I believe the lessons are worth it even if you live a long way away.

Ben is a very patient and understanding teacher who makes lessons a truly enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend him for players of any skill level.

Ben is a passionate teacher of music who's love for music can be felt throughout his lessons. I am a long time violin student of his and have greatly benefited from his lessons, both in getting technically better at playing and overall appreciating the music being played. My enjoyment of playing violin has been greatly shaped by his lessons with his energetic and passionate attitude towards teaching leaving a lasting impact.
